Fort Myers, FL (June 15, 2015)— All Aboard Travel, Southwest Florida’s premier cruise and tour package travel agency, announced it is planning the travel and housing logistics for a private church group attending the upcoming World Meeting of Families 2015, and Papal visit, in Philadelphia, scheduled September 21-27.  Naples’ Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church has been working closely with All Aboard Travel to ensure its group will experience the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Pope Francis. The World Meeting of Families is a triennial global event that is being held in the United States for the first time ever.

“We are thrilled to be the trusted travel agency securing all the details for Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church to travel to the World Meeting of Families for the chance to attend its Congress, the Festival of Families and to see the Pontiff in the City of Brotherly Love. The group from St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will fly to Philadelphia on September 21, and return September 28. An All Aboard Travel agent expert will be on hand from the church to the airport, to see the group off.

Detailed plans for Pope Francis’ visit have not yet been finalized and are expected to be released sometime this summer. However, the Holy Father is scheduled to visit Philadelphia September 25-27, to participate in the closing events of the 8th World Meeting of Families. These events include the Festival of Families, an intercultural celebration of life around the world, which is set to take place Saturday, September 26. There will also be a Papal Mass, on Sunday, September 27, which is open to the public.

Saint John Paul II created the World Meeting of Families in 1994 to explore the critical role the family plays in society and to give families opportunities to talk about the challenges and blessings that all families have.

There are still a few spots open for parishioners of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church to sign up to attend the World Meeting and see the Pope.  The delegation from the church will be finalized by June 26. Fall, winter and spring tours announced with option of private group bookings

The four trips, exclusively for All Aboard Travel clients, include Pennsylvania’s Amish Country; Florida’s historic St. Augustine and Amelia Island; Savannah’s renowned Southern Hospitality; and a private group booking to Biloxi and New Orleans. Lancaster County Amish Heritage – September 27 – October 2, 2015
Colorful fall foliage and quaint Amish countryside scenes will delight travelers taking part in this 5-night trip through Pennsylvania’s Lancaster County. Guests will experience the picturesque scenery, the colorful array of exquisite handmade quilts and unique country crafts at local Amish Quilt and Craft Shops, and visit the Strasburg Railroad – which offers a nostalgic glimpse of railroading’s glorious past. Guests will travel through Pennsylvania Dutch Country as an authentic steam locomotive pulls the group past working farms amid Amish country. This multi-day excursion will also include an energy packed performance of “Joseph” at the Sight & Sound Theater. Sight & Sound’s larger-than-life staging features scenes like the spectacular Egyptian palace, which spans 300 feet and wraps around three sides of the audience.

St. Augustine, Amelia Island and More – January 4-7, 2016
This year marks the 450th anniversary of the founding of St. Augustine, which is the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the continental United States. During this 4-day journey, guests will board a vessel for the Nights of Lights boat cruise. The display of lights was chosen by National Geographic in 2011 and 2012 as one of the 10 best holiday lighting displays in the world. From there, guests will tour Jacksonville – exploring its secret underground tunnels and immersing themselves in its Riverside/Avondale neighborhood, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Finally, participants will enjoy the beautiful sights of Amelia Island and Cumberland Island. This excursion will offer an extensive and rich history of both of the islands, with views of wildlife along the way.

Biloxi and New Orleans – February 16-19, 2016 (Private Group Tour)

Highlights of this 4-day excursion include touring Biloxi, Mississippi, which is one of the oldest communities in the country and offers a cultural melting pot of museums, historic sites, and casinos. Savannah, St. Simon’s Island and More – March 7-10, 2016
